Attorney Kenneth Edelin, Jr., Builds MyPhillyLawyer Criminal Defense Practice
(Philadelphia, PA) June 16, 2009 — Since joining Silvers, Langsam & Weitzman in January, attorney Kenneth Edelin, Jr., has developed the criminal defense practice of the law firm better known as MyPhillyLawyer.
"Former clients of our personal injury practice have always turned to us for help if they found themselves in need of a criminal defense lawyer," said firm partner Dean Weitzman. "We wanted to make the same kind of personal service and quality representation we once reserved for personal injury clients available to members of the community needing criminal defense assistance. Today, as head of the firm's criminal defense team, Kenneth Edelin, Jr., defends clients facing a wide range of felony and misdemeanor charges, from drunk driving to drug charges to theft. He represents adults and juveniles and practices in both state and federal court. He also handles appeals.
With more than 12 years of litigation experience, Kenneth Edelin, Jr., has earned a reputation as a skilled trial lawyer and a strong advocate for the disenfranchised. He has successfully tried hundreds of cases to verdict.
Prior to joining MyPhillyLawyer, he worked for the Defender Association of Philadelphia as a trial attorney, spending six years in the association's state office and six years with its federal office.
A graduate of Howard University School of Law in Washington, D.C., he has been protecting the rights of the accused since 1996.
After graduating from Morehouse College in Atlanta with a degree in psychology, Edelin worked in a group home for juveniles in Washington, D.C. Many of the home's residents appeared in court undefended. Enderlin saw what can happen to an individual whose rights are not protected. That experience inspired him to study law.
