Car Crash Lawyer Wins $2.5 Million Jury Verdict for a New Jersey Car Accident Victim Who Was Seriously Injured in a Three-Car Crash While Stopped at a Red Light

A 46-year-old New Jersey woman and her husband have been awarded $2.5 million in damages by a jury in connection with serious injuries she received in a 2014 car accident when she was struck from behind in a chain-reaction collision.
The victim, Jennifer Tomaselli, now 46, of South Brunswick, N.J., was injured Nov. 21, 2014, when her car was struck as she was sitting at a red light on New Brunswick Road near Cedar Grove Lane in Somerset Township, N.J., according to a Dec. 26 story on Law.com.
The crash occurred when a car driven by Bernard Siegal of Somerset failed to stop and rear-ended another car, driven by Nevine Ragheb, also of Somerset, according to the report. Tomaselli’s car was then struck from behind by Ragheb’s car.
Jennifer Tomaselli suffered a concussion, as well as injuries to her neck, back and shoulder in the crash, according to the story. She had to undergo multiple pain management procedures for her orthopedic injuries and two neck surgeries, including a discectomy and the implantation of an artificial disc. That surgery resulted in increased movement of the spine, which led to the development of arthritis, the story explained. Eventually, she had to undergo spinal fusion surgery. The victim continues to suffer from pain and symptoms due to her injuries.
After a four-day trial, the jury awarded $2.3 million to Tomaselli and $200,000 to her husband, Girolamo, the story reported. The case was presented before Superior Court Judge Philip Paley.
