What if I hit my head in a car accident?

After a car accident in Pennsylvania, the parties involved must stop and remain at the accident scene. The driver of each vehicle involved must gather each other’s contact, driver’s license and vehicle information. If the accident does not have any injuries, death or property damage, the parties must file an accident report with the police department within five days of the accident. However, a police officer must be dispatched to the accident scene if there are injuries, death or damage to any vehicle making it unable to move. If anyone has injuries, pain or feels ill, someone should contact emergency services for immediate medical attention.

In a vehicle collision, a driver or passenger may hit their head. Although a bump on the head may not seem significant, it can be more severe than it appears. Even a minor jolt to a person’s head can lead to more life-threatening medical problems.

Anyone who hits their head in a car accident should see a doctor for examination, testing and treatment immediately. Remember to keep all records of appointments, diagnoses and treatment that concern the head injury. Keep track of medical expenses and pharmacy receipts. You may be entitled to compensation for your injuries and damages. To learn more, contact MyPhillyLawyer.
